One of the things I miss about Korea was its vibrant nightlife. If you ever get a chance check out some of this things you can do with friends after dinner in Korea. Enjoy.

What to do after dinner…in Korea
I love Korean nightlife! In Texas, unless I wanted to head to a club or bar after dinner, there really wasn’t’ a place to go for fun after 10pm unless I wanted to go to the movies. Here in Korea Land, it’s so different. The streets of Korea are busy with activity, especially in areas like Itaewon in Seoul.
So what’s a girl to do after meeting friends for dinner, and it’s 11pm, and I don’t want to go home? Well, here are a few things to do that can be had with or without booze.
- Grilled Meat
Yeah, I know, I just had dinner, but what if you’re just leaving your home at 10 pm and want dinner? Or maybe you were in the clubs, and it’s 3am, and you want a home-cooked meal? Then hit the grilled meat place. It’s a full restaurant that’s usually open 24/7. It’s also a great place to sober up. Many places have a special soup just for people who may have had a little too much to drink. Yep, these places make Mickey D’s look sucky.
- Hit the Noraebangs
These are singing rooms, and you can find one open 24/7. Now there are 2 types of Noraebangs. The first is the cheap coin-operated ones. You put in coins and sing a couple of songs. There are good for solo action or 2 people. It feels and looks like a closet, but it’s great for making out with that hot Korean stud you went to dinner with earlier that evening!
Now the second type I call the Cadillac of Noraebangs. The rooms can fit 5-6 people easily. I’ve been in ones where 12 people can fit in the room. These rooms are nice, plush, and they bring drinks to you. You push a button, and the server comes and takes your drink order and serves you. Think of it as really cheap and affordable bottle service. These rooms do charge like a good hooker, by the hour, but they are so worth it.
- PC Bang
Bang, in case you haven’t figured it out, means room. PC is of course self-explanatory. These places are just a fancy name for Internet Cafes. I haven’t seen any in Texas and Starbucks do not count. PC Bangs are really cheap to rent by the hours. They have also have machines where you get snacks and drinks. However, if you want booze, it’s behind the counter. After all, we do have minors that spend many an hour playing video games. PC Bangs are a great place to kill time when you get out from the clubs at 3, you don’t want meat, and your next train home doesn’t leave until 6am.
- DVD Rooms
I love DVD Rooms. You have a place where you watch a movie in your own private room. The rooms are set up with a large fake leather futon type bed with the movie playing on a projector screen. These places fit 2 very comfortably. You can get sodas and chips free, but if you want booze or something else, you’d need to pay. The rooms cost about 10 bucks for the movie.
On a side note, DVD Rooms are also great places to make out? How do I know? Well, let’s just say I’ve been to a few and I can’t tell you what movie was playing.
